AFL Victoria Alcohol Cultural Change
- work in partnership with the AFL, football leagues, VicHealth and other key stakeholders to facilitate
the responsible use of alcohol in football environments
- provide leadership to the Victorian football network in understanding the role of alcohol in the
football world and the development of strategies to reduce risky alcohol consumption,
- increase awareness of alcohol-related harm and effective strategies to reduce excessive drinking in
community football
- build league and club capacity to address alcohol-related issues using a range of strategies including
policy development, training, and program implementation
- Key Objectives:
- undertake and promote research, evaluation and monitoring activities to continually improve how
alcohol issues are addressed across community football
