  1. Earth Science
    1. 8.E.3. Identify and describe the atmospheric and hydrospheric conditions related to weather systems.
      1. The hydrosphere is apart of the liquid atmosphere that covers 70% of the surface which can affect the progress of the sport you are doing due to the amount of precipitation.
        1. Depending on the amount of precipitation a game could be cancelled.
    2. Astronomy
      1. 8.D.3. Recognize and explain the effects of the tilt of the Earth’s axis.
        1. During a game the tilt could and rotation could affect the lighting, meaning that in curtains seasons it could get darker quicker or slower.
          1. So depending on the season and time light may be out or not.
      2. Biology
        1. 8.D.1. Recognize and describe that evolutionary change in species over time occurs as a result of genetic variation in organisms and environmental changes.
          1. The sports back in older times weren’t the same as sports now and days so as time progressed the athlete's body had adapted to the different conditions for the sport.
            1. In older times the sports were not as dangerous so now athlete's bodies have changed.
        2. Chemistry
          1. 8.B.1. Provide evidence to support the fact that idea of atoms explains conservation of matter.
            1. As the game goes on depending on the athlete’s potassium levels the sweat that comes out of your pores can change to salt particles that can be seen on the skin.
              1. Which means that before a game an athlete needs to be hydrated and watch the potassium level.
          2. Physics
            1. 8.A.2. Identify and relate formal ideas (Newton’s Laws) about the interaction of force and motion to real world experiences
              1. In certain sports the law of inertia comes into play such as in football, a runner is in motion and his motion will stop if an opposite force that is the same or stronger will stop them.
                1. But it all depends on the mass and force of the person in order for momntum to shft or stop
            2. Thermodynamics
              1. 8.B.1. Describe and cite evidence that heat can be transferred by conduction, convection and radiation.
                1. In outdoor sports people where black strips under their eyes in order to see because the color/shade of black absorbs the radiation of the sun.
                  1. This is why most outdoor athletes have a strip of black tape under their eyes this makes the game easier for more sunny areas
              2. Environmental Science
                1. 8.B.1. Recognize and explain how human activities can accelerate or magnify many naturally occurring changes.
                  1. Certain activities done before a game such as caring for the field can require fossil fuels.
                    1. When the field is being mowed the vehicles run on fossil fuels which can damage the air
