PASSIVE VOICE

2. It's not important who or what does the action
   1. The house was built in 1654.
3. You don't know who or what does the action.
   1. My car has been stolen
4. It's often used in formal texts. Switching to the active voice will make your writing clearer and easier to read.
   1. ACTIVE: A mass of gases wrap around our planet PASSIVE: Our planet is wrapped in a mass of gases.
5. Grammar Rules
   1. we use the preposition by to say who/what performs the action while using PAssive Voice
   2. Subject + to be (conjugated) + Past Participle + Rest of sentence
      1. Simple present
         1. is
            1. made everyday (by...)
      2. Present continuous
         1. is being
            1. made at the moment
      3. Simple past
         1. was
            1. made yesterday (by ...)
      4. Past continuous
         1. was being
            1. made before yesterday (by ...)
      5. Present perfect
         1. hasn't been
            1. made since you left.
      6. Past perfect
         1. had been
            1. made before they arrived.
      7. Future
         1. won't be
            1. made tomorrow (by..)
      8. Future continuous
         1. will be being
            1. made tomorrow.
      9. Present conditional
         1. wouldn´t be
            1. made if you had visitors
      10. Past conditional
          1. would have been
             1. made if the kitchen had been dirty.
      11. The breakfast
   3. With Infinitives
      1. The infinitive passive voice is used after modal verbs and other most verbs normally followed by an infinitive.
         1. You have to be tested on your English grammar.
         2. John might be promoted next year
         3. She wants to be invited to the party.
         4. I expect to be surprised on my birthday.
         5. You may be disappointed.
