Charter for Staff (Academic)
Nota:
•- I will make every effort to know each of the students in my
classes and understand how they best learn. This will be reflected in all
of my communication about the student to the parent and other members of staff;
communication with students and parents is an important part of the educational
process
•- Assessment needs to be authentic, equitable and linked to
syllabus criteria. Accurate, useful feedback from completed assessment tasks
should be provided to students as soon as possible as part of the learning
process.
• All students have the right to learn. I will maintain high
standards of behaviour in the classroom and follow the College’s Living Values
framework to ensure a safe, secure and positive classroom environment. I also
recognise that positive praise is an important motivator.
•Actively seek opportunities for my own Professional
Development in order to continually keep abreast of curriculum changes,
effective use of technology and best practice in all aspects of education.
•Support the Australian National Standards for teachers and the
Code of Ethics as outlined by the Queensland College of Teachers.
• As a professional educator, I will strive to provide
engaging, meaningful and stimulating learning experiences at all times; as such
I will be a model for students by providing my best to and for them in all that
I do. I will also set regular and worthwhile study patterns both in class
and for home.
