  1. The act of delaying something that must be done.
    1. Checking good habits/bad habits.
      1. Unpleasant or boring task.
        1. Postponing something despite knowing that there will be negative consequences for doing so.
          1. is not a new phenomenon, it has increased over the last 50 years
            1. CHRONIC
              1. Stress - generated by own internal critics and distractions / poor time keepersdfgdfgdfgfdg
                1. Big health problems. Mental health problems: depression, anxiety. Guilt and panic.
                  1. Poor sleep.
                    1. Poor diet.
                      1. Lack of exercise habits.
                        1. Smoking and alcohol consumption.
                          1. Low immune system.
                          2. The irony is that procrastinators frequently complain about not having enough time to do all things they need to do, but there’s a lot of hidden time spent in having fun.
                            1. A man who puts off work is always at hand-grips with ruin (Hesiod 800 b. C.).
                              1. Self regulation and routines have declined.
                                1. Multiple opportunities for distraction, like: the web, e-mails, videogames, smart TVs, dating, etc.
                                  1. You can’t just turn off creativity like a faucet, you have to be in the right mood.
                                    1. The cost of procrastination -> It causes illness and can kill people.
                                      1. Why do some people suffer more from procrastination than others?
                                        1. Perfectionism.
                                          1. Difficulties tolerating uncertainty.
                                            1. Fear to fail.
                                              1. Poor time management.
                                                1. Often thinking that things aren’t quite right -> repeated checking,
