  1. What is Blood Pressure?
    1. The pressure measured within large arteries in the systemic circulation.
      1. Systolic / Diastolic Blood Pressure
        1. Diastolic BP describes the lowest pressure within the large arteries during heart muscle relaxation between beats.
          1. Systolic Pressure is the maximum pressure within the large arteties with the heart muscle contracts to push blood through the body.
          2. DIRECTLY INDICATES
            1. Cardiac Output
              1. Arterial elasticity
                1. peripheral vascular resistance
              2. Physiology
                1. Adult "Normal" is roughly 120/80
                  1. Children "Normal" is roughly 100/60
                    1. Infants "Normal" is roughly 95/60
                      1. Hypertension (High BP)
                        1. Anything over 140/80
                          1. Anything over 180/120 is a hypertensive emergency
