• Cholera is a bacterial infection caused by drinking contaminated water or eating food that has been in contact with contaminated water.  The water is usually contaminated by Feacal matter.

• Hits London at various times but main outbreaks in 1832, 41 & 54. Spread along major waterways and made worse by overcrowded and unsanitary housing and living conditions.

   • From Ganges India. From Bacterium Vibrio Cholera (V.Cholera) Kills 100k-120k per year. Source WHO. 5-6 million non fatal cases per annum.

   • Discovered the cause of an outbreak of Cholera in London in the late 18th Century.
