Common language functions

Asking for and offering help.
Communicative approach
Principles
Goal: To enable Ss to communicate in the target language.
The T has the responsibility to establish situations likely to produce communication.
Classroom activities include games, role plays and music.
Student-centered.
Errors of form are tolerated during fluency-based activities.
Competence approach
What learners become competent at when they have learned the language.
Focus the teaching on what learners need to be able to show at the end of the teaching porcess.
Evaluation will focus on looking at evidences of language ability.
