Looking for Meaning

Nota:

• -Trinity,Three parts of God...Father,Son and the Holy Spirit. -God gave humans free will. -God has no physical form/body,is the spirit. -God as Jesus (redeemer) to save people -God as creator,Earth has purpose.

Nota:

• -Only one God,All knowing,Creator of the world. -Merciful and Gracious -Requires submission to him in obedience. He will judge. -He sent his last prophet,Muhammad to lead and guide his people -Has no beginning or end -There is nothing like him

• -Upbringing -Natural world,God must have created it. -Holy books -Life without God has no point

• -Prayer -Preaching & Teaching -Worship -Vocation,feeling called to do a job -Service and commitment,acts of kindness,charity -Studying the religion more -Pilgrimage to holy places e.g Lourdes

• -Prayer,5 times a day. -Read the Qur'an. -Give 2.5% of income as Zakah. -Pilgrimage,going on Hajj and travelling to Makkah. -Live the life Allah requires,doing halal and avoiding haram.

• -Some prefer to be buried,many are cremated. -Passage read from Bible for funeral (psalm 23:The Lord is My shepherd) -Songs -Minister/Relative say something about the dead person's life. -'Earth to earth,Ashes to ashes',reminds God is in charge.

• -Adhan (call to prayer) should be the final words a Muslim hears. -The body is washed and wrapped in a white cloth. - An Imam(leader) reads the prayers at the mosque and grave site. -Funeral takes place within 24 hours,men usually only attend. -Body is buried facing Makkah.  -The ceremony is simple.

• -Soul lives on after death. Will either go to Heaven or Hell. Depends if the individual accepted Jesus. -Heaven is paradise,Hell is eternity without God. -Some believe in Purgatory.

• -Life after death is called Akhirah. -No afterlife would make life meaningless. -Life is a test,how we act in life will determine what happens after death. -Nothing is accidental,Allah is in control. -Everyone remains in their grave until the day of judgement. Allah will only know who goes where.
