Judicial Branch
  1. Judicial Branch: Interprets laws and applies laws to individual cases, decides if laws violate the Constitution
    1. Supreme Court: Highest court in the United States. The Justices are nominated by the president and voted by Congress (at least 51 votes). Congress can decide the number of justices. Now there are currently nine. Justices do not have fixed terms. They either serve until death, retirement, or removal based on circumstances
      1. Federal Courts: The Constitution gives congress the ability to make other federal courts in the country
      2. State Level of government
        1. State judicial branches are mostly led by the state supreme court which hears appeals from the lower level courts. The supreme court mostly concentrates on correcting errors in lower courts.
