Resumen del Recurso

12-5: Gene Regulation
  1. Gene Regulation: An Example
    1. operon: group of genes that operate together
      1. lac genes are turned off by repressors and turned on by the presence of lactose
        1. operator: area where repressor binds, "the other region"
        2. Eukaryotic Gene Regulation
          1. Most eukaryotic genes are controlled indivuatlly, regulatory sequences are much more complex than "lac" operon
            1. differentiation: cells become more specialized in structure
              1. hox genes: genes that control differentation of cells and tissues in the embryo
