Idea 1: The key image will be of the April
the main character, she will be in the woods
which is one of the locations that is used in
the trailer, this will create tension and set
the atmosphere for the film, the location
pictures show the possible location to take
the key image photo
The clown (unknown character) will also appear in the poster,
I will fade the clown out so that fear of the unknown is
conveyed through the poster. The clown will be placed behind
the tree and in other places so the audience can see that the
unknown character is always there and plays a key role in the
film
Idea 2: The key image will be of the 'unknown' character but only
the silhouette/the character will be faded into the background so the
poster conveys the fear of the unknown which is represented in
the film trailer
Inspiration
The inspiration for our trailer
was 'Scream 4' and 'Chain
letter' These are the posters
for these films.
The scream 4 poster is an
inspiration as they have
their 'unknown' character
displayed on the front of
their poster which is one of
my ideas for my poster
The chain letter poster doesn't give
much away about the film, it keeps
the audience guessing and the
colour scheme and key image
creates ambiguity to what the film is
about, this colour scheme works
well because it looks mysterious
and scary
Colour scheme
Idea 1: The colour scheme for my poster will have
a sepia tone, it will be similar to the one from the
cabin in the woods because the location will be in
a forest so all the colours will tie in together and
give the poster an unsettling edge
Idea 2: The colour scheme for my poster will be
black, white and red to convey the genre of
horror.
Here are the colour schemes and
each colour that is used for the
chain letter and scream 4 poster
Font
Here are some possible ideas of font for my
film poster. I have chosen these fonts
because they represent the horror genre well
as they are fonts that are recognisable from
horror film posters.
Tag line
Tag line 1: 'The jokes on you'
Tag line 2: 'fear the unknown, it's always there'
These are possible tag lines for
my poster, they relate to the film
and give the audience an insight
into the story line of the film
