Current, resistance potential difference
1. Current - flow of electric charge around the circuit, units: amps
  1. Ammeter - in series
2. Potential difference - driving force that pushes the current round, units: volts
  1. Voltmeter - in parallel
3. Resistance: anything which slows the flow down, units: ohms
  1. Increases with temp. - ions in conductor move more, can't flow easily
4. The greater the resistance, the smaller the current
5. Current = Charge (C) / Time (s)
  1. Charge is measured in coulombs
6. Potential difference = Work done (J) / Charge (C)

Potential difference-current graphs
1. Resistor - current is directly proportional to PD
2. Filament lamp - as temp. increases, resistance increases
3. Diode - current will only flow in one direction, high resistance in opposite
4. V = IR

1. LED - emits light when flowing in forward direction
2. LDR - LURD (Light Up, Resistance Down)
3. Thermistor - TURD (Temp. Up, Resistance Down)
Series Circuits
1. Remove 1 component - broken
2. PD is shared
3. Current is the same
4. Resistance adds up
5. Cell voltages add up
Parallel Circuits
1. Each component separately connected
  1. Removing - won't affect
2. PD is the same
3. Current is shared
