  1. Skeletal muscles work as antagonistic pairs. They pull on the bone to make them pivot
    1. A moment is the turning effect of a force
      1. You calculate a moment using the equation ; moment=force X perpendicular distance to pivot
        1. Moments have units of Newton metre
      2. The biceps and triceps are an antagonist pair
        1. As one muscle contracts the other relaxes - this is what an antagonistic pair is
