1. IGNORANCE
  1. Not knowing or wanting to know the facts
2. PARENTAL&PEER PRESSURE
  1. Accepting the views and attitudes of others
3. ANGER&RETALIATION
  1. Reacting after some event or tragedy, thought to be the fault of a particular group e.g. 9/11
4. EXPERIENCES
  1. Having an unpleasant experience from a particular group or person from that group
5. FEAR
  1. People fear the unknown and are often afraid to find out
RELIGIOUS VIEW OF P&D
1. Christianity and Islam believe that god created all humans as equals in his Image therefore we are all equal no matter what our race, Gender etc is
2. All Muslims believe they belong to the UMMAH, Also during prayer they stand shoulder to shoulder they are all equal before Allah
PREJUDICE&GENDER
1. In Christianity women are men equal e.g. Jesus teated women with respect and they can be priests in Protestant chruches
2. In Islam women and Men are equal before Allah with the same religious duties they'll face on day of judgement, But men can pray in private and .....
  1. ... public place where as women can only pray in private place at the mosque or home and in some cultures women don't have same rights as men in work
