  1. 85% percent of your success as a leader will be determined by your ability to communicate effectively.
    1. Keys to success in leadership, life, and love:
      1. 1. You want people to like and respect you, which will reinforce and validate your self-image but also encourage others to want to hear you, not shut you out.
        1. 2. You want people to recognize that you are valuable and important, reinforcing your self-esteem but also giving others a reason to listen to you.
          1. 3. You want to be able to persuade people to accept your point of view, to sell your products, services and ideas to others.
            1. 4. You want to get people to change their minds and to cooperate with you in achieving your goals.
              1. 5. You want to be more personally powerful and influential.
    2. Aristotle's Rhetoric: 3 parts of any communication.
      1. Ethos: Character, credibility and respect Pathos: Emotions you address Logos: Your words and message.
      2. Four Ps. The four keys to develop and use to persuade others. The more that people like you, the more open they are to being persuaded and influenced by you.
        1. 1. Positioning. Your personal credibility, how people think and talk about you.
          1. 2. Performance. Your ability and competence in your field. Having a reputation for expertise and knowledge.
            1. 3. Personal Power. Your power over people, money or resources.
              1. 4. Politeness. Your use of kindness, courtesy and respect with other people.
        2. LOOK THE PART.
          1. Credibility can be influenced by how you look. To communicate effectively with others you must look the part.
            1. 1. It takes 4 seconds to make a first impression.
              1. 2. It takes 30 seconds to finalize the fist impression.
                1. 3. After the first impression has solidified, people seek reasons to justify and validate the impression they have made.
                  1. 4. Dress for success. Clothes cover 95% of your body, dress powerfully and persuasively.
