    1. salt's name: name of metal, variation of the acid that reacted to make it
      1. acid + metal -> salt + hydrogen (gas)
        1. H+ + OH- → H2O
          1. hydrogen from the acid and hydroxide ion from the alkali form to make carbon dioxide
          2. acid + alkali -> salt + water
          3. acid pH < 7
            1. alkali pH > 7; AND IS SOLUBLE
              1. salt endings
                1. hydrochloric acid -> ... chloride
                  1. sulphuric acid -> ... sulphate
                    1. nitric acid -> ... nitrate
