What is Python?
  1. Python is a programming language.
    1. A programming language is a formal constructed language designed to communicate instructions to a computer.
      1. Programming languages can be used to create programs to control the behavior of a machine or to express algorithms.
        1. The most basic computer language is binary. This code is composed only of 0's and 1's.
      2. Python is an interpreted, object-oriented, high-level programming language with dynamic semantics.
        1. Python allows programmers to express concepts in fewer lines of code than would be possible in languages such as C++ or Java.
          1. Programmers love Python because of the increased productivity it provides. Since there is no compilation step, the edit-test-debug cycle is incredibly fast.
            1. Python is multipurpose: it is not specialised to a specific target of users (like R for statistics, or PHP for web programming).
