Anatomy and Physiology
  1. Skeletal system (206)
      1. is divided into two systems:
        1. Axial System (80)
          1. Includes these types of bones:
            1. Flat Bone
              1. Mainly found in the skull such as the frontal bone
                  1. and acts as a shield for the brain
                1. also found in the rib cage
                    1. that acts as a protective cage for the heart
                    2. that is lateral to the sternum, another flat bone
                      1. and anterior to the scapula, a flat bone as well
                    3. Irregular Bone
                      1. found on the vertebrae column
                        1. has hinge joints
                            1. that stabilizes and supports the back
                              1. has pivot joints between atlas and axis
                    4. Appendicular System (126)
                      1. Includes these types of bones that are used to move:
                        1. Long Bone
                          1. Found in the Legs
                            1. Femur
                              1. Tibia and fibula
                                  1. is inferior to the

                                    1. Is made up of Epiphysis at the ends and Diaphysis in the middle (Shaft)
                                      1. from outside to inside, the Cortex is the outermost layer
