Underneath the keyboard letters are
switches, they send the data through
to the computer then that data gets
changed to the letters and numbers.
Mouse
A mouse is connected to the
computer so you can control what it
does.
T.V Controller
Microphone
Microphone converts sound waves into the
audio signal. The diaphragm is located at
the head of the microphone, this vibrates
when sound waves hit.
Webcam
Joystick
Scanner
Touch Screen Device
Xbox Controller
The Xbox controller sends
information to the Console,
that it is connected to,
depending on the buttons you
press. The buttons that you
press contribute to what
happens on the screen, which
is connected to the console.
Barcode scanner
The scanning head shines a Led or a Laser
light onto the barcode. The light reflects of the
barcode(black the least light, white the most
light). As the scanner moves past it causes an
on - off pulse corresponding to the white and
black stripes. Example - black black black
white black black white black - this would be
off off off on off off on. An electronic circuit on
the scanner converts these pulses into zeros
and ones. On the example before this would
be - 11101101.
Output Devices
Printer
Data is sent to the printer via the
computer. In the printer ink is put
onto the paper that you want to
print. The paper then comes out
the printer with the ink on it
where you want it.
Speaker
T.V Screen
Headphones
In the head of the headphones there are two wires,
one of the wires carry the current into the coil from the
stereo then the other one carries back again.

Storage Devices
Memory Stick
A memory stick is a small SSD that uses flash memory
cells that keep memory while they are off. They are
better than hard disks because they have moving
parts.
hard disk
A hard disk has a mechanical disk spinning
around inside the drive then writes down the
data.
Pen Drive
Pen Drive consists of a small
printed circuit board. The
board provides a solid base
for the Pen Drive's form and
collects information. The
circuit board has a small
microchip inside it which
makes the Pen Drive able to
pull out information.
Floppy disk
A floppy disk reads and writes data
to a small piece of metal plastic
similar to an audio cassette tape.
Zip Drive
The zip drive has two parts to the head
that interface with the computer to get
the data. In the disk there is a quick spin
cartridge like the flexible part of the
floppy disk. Code is written here for
storage. This is a portable device.
