Looking at the prelim task, what do you
feel you have learnt in the progression
from it to the full
From our preliminary task, we have learnt a lot about what worked well and what could have been improved
as well as including successful points which we felt worked well and effectively and tried to eliminate negative
points which perhaps did not work so well in our previous task.
For our preliminary task we done a remake of the Quentin Tarantino classic, Reservoir dogs. For this we
conducted our task in a hallway of our school in which we all attend and attempted to authenticate the
original in some aspects but devised our own twist on the re-make. Furthermore, we used the original music
used in the film which helped to create a more ''certified'' performance and used the same font, size and
colour to match the classic thriller.
On the other hand we also included many of our own ideas on the original title sequence which created a
modern twist on the 20th century classic. This generated a mixture of responses from our audience after
feedback was requested. These included positive advice such as the quality of the camera used to really
gain a professional perspective on the opening title sequence and make it look well presented. Then again
there was some criticism of our title sequence including the ideology that our modern twist did not well
represent the time in which the movie is based in, therefore reducing the realism of the title.
We took this feedback very seriously and tried to eliminate any negatives from our prelim task from our full
production in order to make an authentic and realistic sequence as well as taking the positives from our task
and include these in our full production in which we received good feedback from about what worked well and
which could have been improved.
