    1. After WW1Italy had been promised land under the Treaty of London, they failed to receive it and balmed the Italian government
      1. Inflation and unemplyement.
        1. 2.5 million soldiers demobilised, this leads to unemployment
          1. 50% rise in inflation, prices increase greatly but wages stay the same.
            1. many strikes occur as a result .
            2. FEAR OF COMMUNISM
              1. Because of srikes, riots break out.
                1. Communism grows in popularity.
                  1. landowners , industrialists and the Church fear communism.
              2. Fascists and Blackshirts grow in popularity
                1. Black shirts attack strikers and torture people
                  1. police ignore the tactics of the black shirts
                    1. The fascist party grows in popularity
                2. March on Rome
                  1. Mussolini demands that fascists be allowed into government
                3. HOW MUSSOLINI BECOMES A DICTATOR
                  1. HE CREATES A SECRET POLICE THAT SPY ON THE POPULATION
                    1. OVRA
                    2. He censors the Radio and the Press
                      1. He bans all other Political parties
                        1. He rules by DECREE
                          1. The Aventine Session
                            1. Matteotti socialist is Murdered by Fascists
                            2. 1923 The Mussolini brings in the Acerbo Law
                              1. This means who ever wins the most seats in the next election gets two thirds of the seats in the next government
