   Nota:

   • Saturated adiabatic lapse rate.

   Nota:

      Nota:

      • Convection occurs under unstable conditions where the ELR is greater than the SALR or DALR.
      • Involves kinetic energy but also carries energy in two form: sensible heat (thermal) and latent heat.

• The troposphere is heated by the surface by infrared radiation and the stratosphere is heated by solar radiation - particularly the UV.
