Penguins

Nota:

• -Penguins are a group of aquatic, flightless birds.  -They live on every continent in the southern hemisphere. -Their diet  consists of krill, fish and squid.

• -Penguins have been on Earth for more than 60 millions years. - It is still debated over who exactly discovered penguins; some say it was Vasco da Gama or Ferdinand Magellan.

   • -Emperor penguin, Macaroni penguin and Rockhopper penguin
   1. Emperor Penguin

      Nota:

   2. Macaroni Penguin

      Nota:

      • -Has the biggest population with 11,654,000 penguins. -Has distinctive orange feather plumes on face and is referred to as a royal penguin. -Breeds on the Macquarie island (south of Australia). 
   3. Rockhopper Penguin

      Nota:

      • - One of the smallest penguins weighing only 4-5 pounds. -Has a distinctive red eye. -Received name for literally jumping from rock to rock.
