  1. Examples of specialised cells.
    1. The human body contains hundreds of different kinds of specialised cells.
      1. Red blood cells, goblet cells and ciliated cells are just three of them.
        1. Exam Tip! Cells are measured in a unit called a micrometre, symbol lrm. There are 1000 micrometres in one millimetre.
        2. Specialised plant cells.
          1. Root-hair cells are specialised plant cells.
            1. They are fine hair-like extensions of a root.
              1. Their large surface area enables plants to miximise their absorption of water from the soil.
                1. Remember! All the different types of specialised cell are the result of differentiation organism.
