READING COMPREHENSION TECHNIQUES

SCANNING
1. To locate a specific fact or piece of information

SKIMMING
1. To get the main ideas and a general overview of the content of the text fastly.

    3. Typographical characteristics (italics, boldface, underlining, etc.)
    4. Unusual words, especially if capitalized
    5. Qualifying adjectives (best, worst, most, etc.)
PREDICTING
1. To think ahead while reading and anticipating information and events in the text.
