'Well-used books' - Paper's important, knowledge
'Alter' - Verb, powerful
'How easily they fall away on a sigh' - Temporary, lost, sad how human life is fragile
'Fly our lives like paper kites' - Simile, controls our lives, money, freedom, fragile
'Koran' - Religion, been around for years, lots of pages/layers
'Drift' 'Shift' - Verb, light, blown apart, taken away
