As organizations compete and change to increase organizational performance, training of employees and managers becomes even more critical than before.
      1. Training Categories
        1. Required and regular training: Complies with various mandated legal requirements (e.g., OSHA and EEO) and is given to all employees (e.g., new employee orientation).
          1. Job/technical training: Enables employees to perform their jobs well (e.g., product knowledge, technical processes and procedures, and customer relations).
            1. Interpersonal and problem-solving training: Addresses both operational and interpersonal problems and seeks to improve organizational working relationships
              1. Developmental and career training: Provides longer-term focus to enhance individual and organizational capabilities for the future
