The League of Nations was set up in 1920 as a result of the Treaty of ❌. It's main purpose was to be an international forum in which countries could work out their disputes in a ❌ manner. It's policy of ❌ obliged members to act together to prevent strong countries from attacking weaker ones.
But the League was weak from the beginning. The ❌ refused to join, although it's president, Woodrow ❌, was first to propose the setting up of the league. Entry was at first denied to ❌ because of it's role in World War 1. The ❌ (Russia) was excluded from the League until 1934 because it had a ❌ government.
The weakness of the government was exposed when it did nothing to prevent Italy from invading ❌.
