718: the fundamental purpose of sentencing is to contribute, along with crime prevention initiatives, to respect for the law and the maintenance of a just, peaceful and safe society by imposing just sanctions that have one or more of the following objectives:
(a) to unlawful conduct
(b) to the offender and other persons from committing offence
(c) to offenders from society, where necessary;
(d) to in rehabilitating offenders
(e) to provide for harm done to victims or to the community
(f) to promote a sense of in offenders, and acknowledgement of the harm done to victims and the community

4. the principles that guide the service in achieving the purpose referred to in section 3 are as follows:
(d) offenders the rights of all members of society except those that are, as a consequence of the sentence, lawfully and necessarily removed or restricted
