The Orinoco Basin is a geographic region of Colombia determined by the Orinoco river basin, and to locate in the eastern part of the country is also known as the Llanos Orientales. It is an ecosystem that is characterized by being a plain. The region lies between the rivers Arauca, Guaviare, Orinoco and Piedmont plains.
