Near front close position. Lips spread, tongue tense, with side rims making a firm contact with the upper molars.

Nearer to the centre than to front. Just above close-mid position. The tongue is lax and the side rims make a slight contact with the upper molars.

Front, between close-mid and open-mid position. Lips loosely spread. The side rims make a slight contact with the upper molars.

The tongue is in front, open mid position. The lips are neutrally open throughout.

Open, front position. Lips neutrally open, and the side rims making a very slight contact with the back upper molars.

Central, almost fully open. Lips neutrally open, considerably separated jaws. No contact between the side rims and the upper molars.

Fully open, in the middle between the centre and the back. Jaws considerably seperated and lips neutrally open.

Open, back. Slightly rounded. No contact between the tongue and the upper molars.

Medium lip-rounding. Between open-mid and close-mid. Back. No contact between the tongue and the upper molars.

Between the centre and the back, nearer the centre. Close-mid position. The tongue is lax, and there's no firm contact between the side rims and the upper molars.
