Every digit in a number has a value, depending on its
position in the number. This is called its
Round ? when the key digit is 5, 6, 7, 8 or 9.
Round ? when the key digit is 1, 2, 3 or 4.
When you multiply a number by 10, all the digits in the
number move ? place to the left.
When you multiply a number by 100, all the digits in the
number move ? places to the left.
When you multiply a number by 1000, all the digits in
the number move ? places to the left.
When you divide a number by 10, all the digits in the
number move place ? to the right.
When you divide a whole number by 100, all the digits in
the number move ? places to the right.
Add and ? are opposite calculations.
Multiply and ? are opposite calculations.
A negative or minus sign written in front of a number, for
example, –5, shows that it is ? .
