A man was killed and the Bani Israel couldn't figure out who killed him, so Allah swt instructed them to slaughter the cow to find out.
To distribute the meat amongst the people.
To remove the love of the cow from the hearts of the Bani Israel.
Faarid is a cow that has become old and given birth to many cows. Bikr is cow that has never given birth. Awaan is a cow that is middle of age.
