The HeartFlowdiagramFrom therest of thebody byvena cavaright atriarightventriclepulmonaryarterypulmonaryveinleft atrialeftventriclelungshow it worksaortarest of thebodyThe left side of theheart has to pumpblood much furtherso its wall is muchthicker.electricalsignalsThe heart has 4 chambers the right andleft atria and right and left ventricles.the atria pump blood into the ventricles. The arteries from the right side is thepulmonary artery which goes to thelungs then into the left atria then leftventricle followed by the aorta rest ofthe body into the vena cava lastly intothe right atria and then right ventricle. The AV Node starts the pulse by sending an electrical signalaround the atria which cause them to contract. This then reaches theSA node whcih stopsthe contraction for avery brief amount oftime to allow thecontraction phase ofthe atria to finish. Itthen passes it on.The Bundle of HIS is next where it istaken down the middle of the septum. The Purkinje fibres followtaking it to the bottom ofthe ventricles causingthem to contract. To note the signal does not go through the wallbetween the AV node and ventricles because thatwould mean it contracts downwards. This wouldmean that the way to the aorta is shut off asthey are at the top of the heart.Haz doble clic en este nodo para editar el textoHaz clic en este nodo y arrástralo para crear uno nuevo
