A child may be baptised and welcomed into the Church.
They might be surrounded by influential figures who believe in God.
A child might go to Sunday School and learn about Jesus, God and the Church.

How might a Christian respond to the issue of unanswered prayer?
God does not answer selfish prayers.
God does not answer prayers that affects another person's free will.
Sometimes God might answer a prayer, but the answer might be a 'no' or not in the expected way.
God does not answer prayers that contradict one another.
God doesn't love everyone and so won't answer everyone's prayers.
Those who don't follow God in the right way won't have their prayers answered.
God doesn't have the power to answer everyone's prayers.

What is moral evil?
Evil caused by the actions of humans, e.g. rape and murder.
Evil caused by things outside of humanity's control, e.g. hurricanes and disease.
Why might someone not believe in God because of the existence of evil and suffering?
If God is omnipotent and omnibenevolent, he would want to and be able to end evil and suffering, yet evil still exists. Therefore, God doesn't exist.
That person has suffered a lot and believes God doesn't care for them. Therefore, God doesn't exist.

God doesn't like people of certain races, sexualities, etc. and therefore makes them suffer more.
People who don't follow God in the right way deserve to suffer.
