Also known as electronic ink or paper. Smart ink is a display technology, which was developed in order to overcome some of the limitations of computer monitors.

Durable,
Highly flexible.
A major advantage is that the pixels have an inherently stable 'memory effect' that requires no power to maintain image. Displays only draw on battery power when the page needs refreshing.
How it works:
Inside each pixel there are tiny white and black beads. The white beads are +ively charged an the black beads -ively charged. Altering the charge applied to each pixel makes the pixel either black or white.
