What is the purpose of a mood board? To generate new ideas and concepts for a new media product
What is the purpose of a mind map/ spider diagram? To show development routes and options for an idea
What is a visualisation diagram? A still image/ graphic which can be a very simple sketch which details what could be the specified product.
What is the purpose of a storyboard? A storyboard is useful as the editors and animators can see what the ideal product would be and also what the creators want included in the product.
What is the purpose of a script? A script is used for video production, voiceover, comic books or computer games. to show the (voice) actors what to say and also can be used for the crew so they can see the stage directions
What can be included in a mood board? Images, text, colour and font (colour, size and style)
What can be included in a mind map? Text and images
What can be included in a visualisation diagram? Images, graphics, logos and text
What can be included in a story board? Scene number, content, timings, camera shots, camera angles, camera movement, lighting, sounds, location and camera type
What can be included in a script? set/ location, stage direction, shot type, camera movement, sounds, characters, dialogue, layout
What are advantages of a mood board? Can be made with or without a computer, very little skill required, need basic equipment such as paper and glue, a range of software can be used, can edit and add things along the process of creation
What are disadvantages of a mood board? Can easily be misinterpreted, can be messy, law needs to be considered, manual boards can be expensive if items such as magazines and fabrics are added
