What is the name of a Sikh church? A gurdwara.
Why does everyone sit on the floor during langar? To show that everyone is equal and that no one has more authority or power over one another.
What is the symbol of Sikhism called? The Khanda.
What is the circle on The Khanda called and what does it represent? The circle is called the Chakkar; represents the eternal love of God.
What are the 5 K's? Kesh - to have uncut hair Kara - to wear a steel bracelet Kanga - to wear their wooden comb Kaccha - wear cotton underwear Kirpan - to carry around their steel sword.
Why do Sikhs commit to the 5 K's? They do this to dedicate themselves to a life of devotion and commitment.
What does the Kanga symbolise? It symbolises a clean mind and body, as it keeps the uncut hair (Kesh) neat and tidy.
What is a Granthi? A ceremonial reader, male or woman, of the Sahib.
What do Sikhs believe about equality? Sikhs believe that everyone is equal before God, regardless of gender, sex, religion and skin colour.
