Step 1. Mix reactants of known molar amounts in a conical flask
Step 2. Add known molar amount of acid catalyst to the flask.
Step 2. Add same amount of same acid to second conical flask as a control.
Step 3. Stopper both flasks and leave for a week to equilibriate
Step 4. Carry out a titration on the equilibrium mixture using a standard solution of NaOH
Step 5. Repeat the titration with the control to determine the amount of acid catalyst that has been used.
