Question Answer
DISCLAIMER!!: It doesn't let me put any photos for some reason, anyway enjoy!!!!!!!
What is an Organ? A structure that contains at least two different types of tissues that work together to complete a task.
What are the four different types of tissues in the human body? Epithelial tissue, Connective tissue, muscle tissue and nerve tissue.
What is an Epithelial tissue and Connective tissue? Epithelial tissue is made up of cells that form surfaces over other organs an example is your skin. Connective tissue supports and holds together other tissues in the body, for example, your bones.
What are Muscle tissues and Nerve tissues? Muscle tissue is a specialised tissue that can contract for example your biceps. Nerve tissues are many nerve cells grouped together, that send electrical signals to your brain.
What is Vascular tissue? Vascular tissue is made up of cells that create hollow tubes for transport of nutrients and other substances in fluid.
What is Xylem? Cells in a plant that carry water from the roots to the rest of the plant.
What is phloem? Cells in a plant that carries glucose from the leaves to all other parts of the plant.
What are biceps, and what does it do? Biceps are the muscles that contract (a muscle tissue) to pull your arm up. Muscles cannot expand, so another set of muscles need to contract to pull the arm back down, these are your triceps.
What are your triceps and what does it do? any of several muscles having three points of attachment at one end, they are another set of muscles which contract to pull your arm back down.
What are the main plant organs and what do they do? The main plant organs are the roots, stem and leaves. These organs work together to bring the raw materials required for photosynthesis.
What is photosynthesis? Photosynthesis is the process in which plants make glucose, plants use the energy from the glucose for their life process. without it, they cannot survive.
What is the purpose of roots being in plants? Well, the root is the plant organ that takes water into the plant from the soil. Water moves through cells to the Vascular tissue, it moves up the xylem to the stem.
What are complex organisms? Give 2 examples. Cells that are organised into tissues, tissues into organs then organs into systems. for example: A boy and a cat.
What are the organ systems and why are they needed? Organ systems are 2 or more different organs that work together. Each organ depends on each other, so they could all keep functioning.
What are the three types of organ systems? 1.The respiratory system 2.The nervous system 3.reproductive system
