Who was Jomo Kenyatta? (1891-1978)- involved in Kenyan independence movement- 1947 leader of KAU- 1953-61-imprisoned for maybe being mau mau member- 1963-became PM-1964- became president- banned opposition
What were the Kenyan Nationalist Movements? Mau mau rebellion(8years)- persuaded Brits reforms necessary- gained independence on 12th dec 1963- 1950s mau mau foughts brits and hundreds were killed
