Carbon Cycle The way element carbon is passed between living and nonliving things.
Extinct The name we give when a species is no longer exists.
Biodiversity The variety of species or kinds of life that exists.
Greenhouse Effect Increase of temperature because of increase of carbon dioxide on Earth.
Deforestation Refers to the cutting down of trees which increases carbon dioxide levels.
Natural resources Any resource nature provides such as wood, oil, propane.
Endangered Species Species that are in danger of being extinct of no longer alive.
Evaporation The change of the physical state of matter from liquid phase into gas phase (vapor). Part of the water cycle.
Condensation Condensation is the change of the physical state of matter from gas phase into liquid phase, and is the reverse of evaporation. Part of the water cycle.
Transpiration The exhalation of water vapor through the stomata. The stomates are the little pores underneath leaves, open and close using guard cells.
Precipitation Precipitation is water released from clouds in the form of rain, freezing rain, sleet, snow, or hail.
Nitrogen-fixing Bacteria These bacteria are found in the soil; they convert atmospheric nitrogen into a useable form of nitrogen that plants can use.
