Question Answer
Name one way in which you can reduce costs during a shoot Use a Single-camera
What is Single-camera production usually used for? -Dramas -Documentaries -Comedies
Advantages of Single-camera production? -More aesthetic control; lighing and sound for each shot -Cheaper -You have a limited amount of space in which you have to set up the shot
What problems might be encountered when planning a Single-camera production? -Less realistic reactions; as one actor gets filmed at a time, the reactions aren't as natural -Repetition; repeat the same shot multiple times to get each angle you want -Editing time; you'll be spending a lot of time editing because of all the shots that have been taken
Why must the location be carefully chosen during pre-production? -Set-up -Travel time - Also using natural lighting where possible can reduce crew, equipment costs and save set-up time
What are the two aspects to finance in pre-production? -Potential sources of finance (advertising, sponsorship, subscription fees, cover price, sales, rental charges) -Expenditure (covering elements like equipment, material, transport costs, crew, personnel, facility hire, clearances and legal costs)
