What is a Membrane Keyboard? A membrane keyboard is a computer keyboard which keys are not separate, moving parts but rather are pressure pads that have only outlines and symbols printed on a flat, flexible surface. Very little, if any, tactile feedback is felt when using such a keyboard.
What is a Mechanical Keyboard? A mechanical keyboard is a keyboard built with high quality, typically spring activated, key switches. Tactile feedback can be felt by this keyboard.
What is one advantage of a Membrane Keyboard? 1) Smaller and more compact than mechanical keyboards. 2)Slim design, can be used in applications where mechanical keyboards cannot reach. 3)Membrane keyboards are quieter than the mechanical keyboard.
