Why does water make great sweat? | Water makes great sweat due to two factors... high heat of vapourization and high heat capacity. For heat of vapourization water takes a lot of energy to evaporate which makes it perfect for sweat, it'll take roughly 540 calories before it vaporizes. Finally, water has a high heat capacity, which means that it can absorb a lot of heat before it changes temperature making it useful for cooling the body. |
