What are the properties and uses of carbon fibre? High stiffness, high tensile strength, low weight, low thermal expansion. Used in formula 1 cars and helicopter rotor blades.
What are the properties and uses of fibre optics? Flexible, transparent, not affected by electromagnetic interference. Used in data transmission over large distances.
What are the properties and uses of waterproof and breathable material? Allows moisture to escape but doesn't let water in. Used in clothes for walking and cycling.
What are the properties and uses of kevlar? High strength, high toughness and has thermal stability. Used in bicycle tires, body armour and stab vests.
What are the properties and uses of maplex? 100% pressed wood, sustainable, similar to plywood. Used in furniture.
What are the properties and uses of Polycaprolactone? Has a low melting point, biodegradable, thermoplastic material. Used in medical applications and can be shaped to resemble injection moulded products.
What are the uses of precious metal clay? Used to make jewellery
