Variable | a symbol which functions as a placeholder for varying expression or quantities and is often a letter, ex. X |
Constant | A fixed value. In Algebra, a constant is a number on its own, or sometimes a letter such as a, b or c to stand for a fixed number. Example: in "x + 6 = 11", 6 and 11 are constants. |
Coefficient | A number used to multiply a variable. Example: 3z means 3 times z, and "z" is a variable, so 3 is a coefficient. |
Operation | There are 4 basic operations in math: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division |
