dicaope the repetition of a phrase after an interjection (ex. "we thank thee, oh God, we thank thee")
didactic a work that aims to teach its audience
homily sermon writing
hypophora asking audience a question and then answering it in great length
invective emotionally violent/destructive/abusive language
litotes using negative terms to describe a positive (ex. "he's no fool" implies that he is wise"
pendantic adjective that describes overly scholarly words
polysendenton use of conjunctions instead of commas (ex. "i laughed and ate and jumped and smiled")
