What is a paper database? A database is a collection of data or information which is held together in an organised or logical way.  Databases can either be paper based or computerised. In this case it is paper based.
What is a computerised database? You will come across computerised databases in every aspect of your life. Here are some examples with which you will be familiar: Search engines e.g. Google, Ask, Bing School electronic registers Library database Shop stock control system.
What is a record ? A record is all of the data or information about one person or one thing.
What is a query? A query is search in the database like asking it a question this is one of the main points of using a database so that you can preform a search to extract data.
What is a field? A field in a database is made up of lots of different pieces of information for example a list of first names.
What is a table? A table is made up of records, records are made up of fields, fields are made up of characters.
What is a pro of relational database? One of the main advantages of a relational database is that it reduces the chance of redundant data.
